BACKGROUND Leptospirosis, a zoonosis, is a re-emerging disease, affecting populations across the globe. However, the current methods of diagnosis are time- consuming, cumbersome, imprecise or expensive. AIM To develop an assay for differential and early diagnosis of Leptospirosis. METHODS AND MATERIAL IgG based ELISA for evaluation of three antigens, namely, a gel-purified recombinant prote...

Leptospirosis is a zoonotic disease with global distribution that caused by pathogenic spirochetes of the genus Leptospira. Accurate diagnosis for differentiation of leptospirosis from other pyrogenic infections prevailing in the same locality and is imperative for proper treatment. Therefore a molecular diagnostic test with high specificity and sensitivity such as PCR is essential. Gene encodi...
متن کاملCloning and Expression of Leptospira LipL32 Antigen as a Candidate for Rapid Diagnosis
Background and Objective: Leptospirosis as an important emerging infectious zoonotic disease caused by spirochetes of the genus Leptospira. Given the low sensitivity and long duration of its culture, the diagnosis of leptospirosis is mainly based on serological methods. The microscopic agglutination test (MAT) is considered as the reference method. Because of the complexity of the MAT, there is...

Abstract BACKGROUND: Diagnosis of Echinococcus granulosus in the definitive host particularly in dog is the significant complication in the endemic area. OBJECTIVES: The aim of this study is serological detection of E. granulosus in the infected dogs. METHODS: Dot-ELISA based on the copro-antigen and recombinant EPC1 antigen (rEPC1) for antibody detection was performed. Blood and fecal samples ...
متن کاملPreparation and in-vitro characterization of alginate microspheres incorporating leptospiral antigens as a delivery system and adjuvant
Leptospirosis is one of the most prevalent zoonotic diseases worldwide. Currently, multivalent whole-cell leptospiral vaccines can induce protection against leptospirosis. Therefore, preparation and formulation of new generations of vaccines that can stimulate long-term immunity for leptospirosis control are essential. The aim of this study was to prepare and characterize alginate microspheres ...
